Description

The goal of the workshop is to promote and discuss recent advances in the theoretical and numerical analysis of Stochastic Partial Differential Equations (SPDEs) in the context of solid mechanics and turbulent flows.

The focus will be on applying SPDEs to specific problems in these two areas. One area of interest is surface damage problems and interfaces with damage, in particular stochastic models of materials with surface defects or cracks. Another topic of discussion will be nonlinear obstacle problems with stochastic forcing.

To address these topics, the workshop will explore both theoretical and numerical aspects. In particular, the workshop will emphasize finite volume schemes as a numerical approximation technique for solving the SPDEs relevant to solid mechanics and turbulent flows.
